As a Field Application Scientist in North America-West, you will be a key member of our dynamic team, responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our customers in the field. Your primary focus will be on understanding the needs of our customers and helping them maximize the value of our BioXp Synthetic Biology Workstation. You will act as a bridge between our customers, commercial and product development teams, ensuring seamless communication, continuous improvement of our products and delivery of exceptional service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospective customers, showcasing the capabilities and benefits ofBioXp Synthetic Biology Workstation and related applications. This includes wet lab work, particularly with molecular biology workflows and handling DNA and RNA.
- Collaborate with sales representatives to understand customer requirements and offer technical solutions to meet their specific worflows.
- Provide comprehensiveBioXp Synthetic Biology Workstation training to customers, both on-site and remotely, to enhance their understanding and proficiency in utilizing our applications.
- Actively engage in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, working closely with customers to ensure successful resolution of challenges.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to relay customer feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, scientific advancements, and competitive landscape to offer valuable insights and guidance to customers.
- Attend conferences, seminars, and trade shows to represent the company, network with potential customers, and build strong professional relationships within the scientific community.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documents, application notes, and support materials to enhance customer knowledge and facilitate self-service support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, IT, Sales, and Customer Solutions, to ensure a cohesive and customer-centric experience.

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in a similar technical, customer-facing role in the life sciences industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex molecular biology workflows effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner, to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites for on-site support and training.
- Proficiency conducting molecular biology experiments and using bioinformatics software.
- Knowledge of cell culture, antibody expression, and protein expression, preferred.
- Proficiency with laboratory automation, preferred.
- A passion for Synthetic Biology, and a desire to contribute to cutting-edge research.
- Experience working in CRM (Salesforce), preferred.
Education Requirements:
- A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a relevant life science field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry) or a related discipline.
- Fluent English required
Travel Required:
- Travel: Up to 60%, including international
